Chief of Staff

Jessica Atlan

I am Jessica Atlan, Chief of Staff at Ankorstore. I am from Paris, my city of birth and heart, where I have spent most my life. I am also the happy mother of two adorable daughters!

My role at Ankorstore is to ensure every team is working on the highest impact topics in close coordination with each other, so that we can smoothly ride our fast-growing path and always be ahead of the curve.

Before joining Ankorstore, I have spent the last 10 years helping both Retailers and Product brands succeed. First, as a Strategy Consultant at BCG, I have supported companies in beauty, sportswear, luxury, mobility. Then, I have been the COO at Cubyn, a French start-up providing logistics solution for e-commerce players.

I am thrilled that I have joined Ankorstore, truly convinced by its mission to support independent retailers and brands. I am confident in its ability to deeply improve the retail landscape, empowered by the unique combination of talented, passionate and authentic people with a business model that actually improves the day-to-day work of both Brands and Retailers. I want to live in a world where I can buy original items in independent stores in my street and I am proud to contribute to this vision!

VP Legal & Compliance

Nathalie Lambert

I am Nathalie Lambert, VP Legal & Compliance. You will see me most of the time in the Parisian offices - I like to meet people and chat over coffee to learn about them, their jobs and the issues they are facing. I grew up in the Paris region and I have been living and working in Paris for more than 25 years now but always in an international context. I love the city but my Breton origins have developed a love for the ocean, where I regularly need to go to disconnect and enjoy this element!

As a VP Legal & Compliance, my role is to help Ankorstore meet its upcoming challenges by supporting the business and managing the risks assessment. I am here to deal with all legal issues related to the company and its business, to help structuring Ankorstore in a context of strong growth and to ensure that its activities/services comply with legal requirements by finding and implementing pragmatic solutions in line with the strategy and interests of our customers.

Before joining Ankorstore, I was a lawyer for 9 years in an Anglo-Saxon law firm, during which I specialized in information technology and more particularly in all issues related to data and personal data. I then joined an American group specialized in health data solutions, first as the Legal director of the French affiliates (7 years), then as the Director of strategic partnerships (3 years). Since then, I have been accompanying Tech start-ups in their structuring, their compliance and the execution of their operational strategy.I immediately liked the Ankorstore project and the values it conveys, which are totally in line with my own. I like the state of mind established by the founders, the diversity of profiles and skills that all work for the success of a common project.

Finance

Pierre-Luc Joffre

My name is Pierre-Luc — I am Ankorstore Finance Director. I grew up in Lyon, next to the French Alps where I love to spend time with family and friends

My role at Ankorstore is to scale a world-class Finance team that will both support Ankorstore hyper-growth and build the best Payment experience for our retailers.

Prior to joining Ankorstore, I worked as a consultant at Bain & Company for 8 years in Paris and New York, where I led strategic and operational projects for global Retail and Consumer Products companies.

I joined Ankorstore early 2021 fully convinced by our mission to drive the evolution of independent retail and the quality of our teams to deliver on this mission

growth

Nicolas Sitter

I am Nicolas Sitter, I come from Paris. I've moved around a lot but I've come back to Paris to work... remotely! I'm the Head of Growth and joined as 2nd employee.

The purpose of my job is to bring more retailers & brands to Ankorstore, while helping all other functions do their job the best possible way.
Before Ankorstore, I was Head of Growth/Acquisition in other startups and before that I was a developer (and had fun working on a famous free beer app).

I loved the fact that Ankorstore is connecting the two long tails of independent stores & brands that represent our day-to-day life: you can just stroll around any city and see it for yourself. This convinced me to join the adventure. I also loved one of the founder's haircut. What makes Ankorstore unique for me is the spirit, the ambition to create a generational company and the ability to explain what the company does and helps solve, to your mom (and she gets it).

operations

Camille Vaisse

I'm Camille Vaisse, Ankorstore's Head of Operations. I was born in the north east of France in the beautiful city of Metz that I left more than 10 years ago. Since I left, I kept going back and have been suffering to see its beautiful city center dying over time !
My main mission at Ankorstore is to scale the Ops function to support the business growth and ensure brands and retailers have the best marketplace experience of the industry.

Before joining Ankorstore, I worked ~4 years at Deliveroo where I also faced hyper growth and scaling. I joined the Paris team at an early stage when we where delivering few orders per day with only 80 drivers in few central Paris neighboroods. 4 years later, we pushed this very intensive business to a new scale as we were delivering tens of thousands orders daily accross 200+ cities with 20k+ riders. After this experience, I was looking for an Operations function to build and scale in an ambitious and very promising company and I made it by joining Ankorstore. I am now very happy and proud to contribute to Ankorstore success which should help indepedant retail to thrive again !

Strategic projects

Thomas Lombard

I’m Thomas Lombard; I’m Ankorstore’s Strategic Projects Director. My job is to partner with independent retailers to explore new opportunities to better support them in their journey towards opening a new shop and successfully running a retail activity.

Prior to joining Ankorstore, I spent six years of the past decade in the US where I worked for Amazon at the Seattle headquarters. I learned how to identify and explore new business opportunities. More importantly, how to quickly scale operations to seize those while continuously iterating to make the customer experience better. I was fortunate to be part of the founding team that created the first Amazon physical store concept, AmazonBooks, and laid out foundations for quickly expanding across the US. Five years ago, I returned to France and joined Chantelle Group, a lingerie and fashion company, as GM for the French retail and wholesale commercial activities.

I’m a retail lover; I truly love the art of developing, showcasing and selling things to people. That’s why I joined Ankorstore. Working here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have an enormous impact on the whole industry, by bringing independent retailers the resources, tools, and support they need to thrive next to the retail behemoths we all know.

market

Fanny Ponce

I'm Fanny Ponce, I grew up in Paris but very soon I started to live in other countries for my studies (US, UK, Egypt) and finally decided to be based in Africa for 7 years (Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria). I'm now back in France for 3 years and I work from home in Paris but also from the different offices we have in Paris, London, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Barcelona.

As a VP Market, I'm in charge of expanding Ankorstore business in new geographies and to make it grow at a light speed. Blitzscaling is my obsession and fortunately also my passion. Before the Ankorstore rocket ship, I was already evolving in a super fast-growth environment, being part of the early top management team of an e-commerce unicorn (NYSE:JMIA). I spent the last 10 years building e-commerce businesses in challenging environments with dedication and commitment for my teams. I notably had the chance to ramp up the team 25x in 2 years, across 10 countries, rolling out 3 business models bringing the revenue up 50x.

I joined Ankorstore fully convinced that the value we create will change the face of an industry and of the consumers in the world. I thought the journey I went through before was a once in a lifetime opportunity but I discovered with Ankorstore that it was possible to aim bigger with an amazingly skilled team. I've also been very impressed by the ownership that the founders give to the team and the high transparency of the company. What makes this company uniique is the explosive mix of huge opportunity and sharp & well-intentioned people on the seat to go after it.

product

Tomas Pueyo

I'm Tomas Pueyo, the Chief Product Officer at Ankorstore, which means that I lead the product, product marketing, design, and user research organizations. We figure out what customers need, how to solve their needs, and then we work with the tech team to create solutions that do solve their needs.

I'm a French/Spanish/American who spent over a decade working in tech in Silicon Valley, in companies like Zynga or Course Hero. My teams have grown in size by 10x, revenue by 100x, and gathered hundreds of millions of users, to manage billion-dollar businesses. I'm now back in Europe, where I'm working remotely from the Spanish region of Asturias.

people

Johann Vivier

I am Johann Vivier, VP People at Ankorstore. I am from Lyon, in France, where I grew up and studied. I am based today in Berlin and work partially from home, partially in our office in Berlin or in Paris... and sometimes in the South of France...

My role as a VP People is to attract and develop the best talents and teams, giving them a safe and motivating environment, adequate means to strive in their role, unleash their potential to constantly grow in our organization and be the centerpiece of the success of Ankorstore. Today and tomorrow.

Before Ankorstore, I have worked as a HR professional in different fields, such as airline, banking, cosmetics and tech, in various contexts such as big corporate, SMEs or start-ups builders, and with very different teams based in France, UK, Germany, the US and so on…

Ankorstore is a unique combination of amazing ambitions and opportunities, extreme passion and speed, legendary talents from all over the world and a very unique human touch based on radical transparency and authenticity. All this in service of a strong purpose : drive the evolution of independent retail - support our little fellows (our independent retailers) to fight against the big guys. That’s what makes Ankorstore unique and that’s why I joined Ankorstore.

Lachlan Laycock

My name is Lachlan Laycock, I grew up in Australia and, after traveling around the world, settled in France. I now live in the Muscadet region near Nantes, where I work remotely. I am the CTO of Ankorstore.

My job is to ensure that Tech at Ankorstore delivers sustainable business value via our Platform. I work closely with the Product and Business teams to achieve this.

Before joining Ankorstore, I was CTO at Stuart Delivery where I scaled the Tech team by 7x (from 20 to 140) and the platform by 2.6Kx (from 500 to 1.3MM weekly deliveries). I started my career at Amazon.com in Tokyo

!What I find unique about Ankorstore is the burning passion and drive that permeates from the leadership all the way down through the entire organisation to revolutionise independent retail.

CO-FOUNDER &  BOARD MEMBER

Mathieu Alengrin

Mathieu is an engineer with a background in platform building and technology. Before co-founding Ankorstore he led the engineering team at Vestiaire Collective, a marketplace dedicated to transforming the fashion industry for a more sustainable future by promoting the circular fashion movement as an alternative to overproduction.

What inspired you to co-found Ankorstore?
I wanted to build something concrete and meaningful that will help a lot of people, but also that is simple to use and to understand. As soon as Pierre-Louis (Lacoste) told me the idea of Ankorstore, knowing that he had lived through the problems that this vision was going to solve, it felt like the future. And I knew this was a way technology could be used, to not only help, but empower independent brands and retailers.

What excites you about this role?
Solving real pain points.Giving independent retailers the tools to survive against the big box platforms will have a huge impact for a lot of people. Creating big scale tech solutions is what I dream of doing. Also, working with a highly experienced team with complimentary skills, who are committed and who trust each other. That's a strong foundation to create something important.

What are the next challenges for Ankorstore?
We have three main challenges ahead of us at Ankorstore: improving the entire experience for our retailers and brands, moving quickly and with speed to accomplish our goals and hiring top talent and experts in their field.

Co-Founder & CBO Ankorstore

Pierre-Louis Lacoste

Pierre-Louis oversees Brand and Marketing at Ankorstore. Previously he was Country Manager of France at Etsy, Senior Executive at the Jean Vier Company Los Angeles, opening the brand's first concept store in the United States; held strategic positions at Coalision, the wholesale/retail company; and was Web Director, Executive Coordinator and then European Vice-President of the Lolë brand, based at their Montreal HQ.

Why are you passionate about the retail business?
Retail has been in my DNA since the beginning of my career. I owned a multi-brand retail store for several years so I speak the same language as our brands and also our retailers, and I know how you feel and what they’re experiencing. I know how difficult it can be, long stretches without sales, cash-flow problems and struggling to get the right products because of high prices and minimum order restrictions. Ankorstore is more than just an opportunity for me, it’s my personal and professional mission to open up the marketplace and make it work better for everyone.

Why Ankorstore?
We’ve named our company Ankorstore because we believe tomorrow’s "anchor store" is the store that attracts traffic. We want to empower independent retailers to become their local “anchor stores” who offer the right product with the right offer and combine that with the right experience. Ankorstore creates a local experience for brands and retailers in which everyone thrives.

What does the future of retail look like?
In the future, I believe that independent retailers will rise again like bookstores are thriving now after being impacted by the rise of online tech-giants. People understand how valuable our city centres and retailers are. The future is retail.

Co-founder and Co-CEO Ankorstore

Nicolas d’Audiffret

Nicolas, CEO of Ankorstore, is dedicating his professional life to help independent business owners thrive through technology.

He is convinced that big corporations are amazing at providing commodity products in a cheap and fast way; but what makes life special are small businesses which provide great experiences. As a father of 4, he wants to make sure his kids will live in a world where independent businesses thrive and continue to propose amazing products and experiences.

Before co-founding Ankorstore, Nicolas co-founded A Little Market, a marketplace allowing handcrafters to sell their creations online. After the company was acquired by Etsy, he led Etsy in continental Europe and invested in 10+ marketplaces (of which BackMarket where he still serves at the board) with always the same vision: provide great tools to independent business owners to help them compete with the big guys.

What was the trigger event to co-found Ankorstore?
Through my experiences at A Little Market and Etsy, I fell in love with the marketplace model, which is creating new opportunities by connecting people which could not be connected otherwise. In particular, I am passionate about marketplaces which are serving independent business owners. When Pierre-Louis Lacoste told me about the idea of co-founding Ankorstore, I loved it as I was convinced that we can solve significant pain points for both brands and retailers. At Ankorstore, we are happy to serve and empower independent business owners on both sides of the marketplace.

How did you attract the most renowned investment funds in the world to back Ankorstore ?
First of all we’re a mission driven company, solving a real and important problem.Secondly, we have assembled an amazing team to do it.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs ?
Make sure you are solving a real pain point and then take risks and learn fast!

Co-Founder & CEO, Ankorstore

Nicolas Cohen

Nicolas is a mechanical engineer, entrepreneur and an active member of the French Tech ecosystem having been a board member of France Digitale for 4 years.

In 2008, after 6 years spent in Finance and Sales at Renault UK and Alcan, he co-created A Little Market with Nicolas d’Audiffret, a marketplace dedicated to handmade products.
In 2014 they sold the company to Etsy and ran the operations of Etsy in Europe for more than 3 years, where they met Pierre-Louis Lacoste.

Nicolas is passionate about intermediation and technology. He is also a business angel in France with investment in Wecasa, i-Make, Agriconomie, Ernesti and more recently in tech companies Accenta, Beam and Electra.

What inspired you to co-create Ankorstore?
What drives me as an entrepreneur is having a positive impact on people’s lives. It’s important for me to do something meaningful and that people understand, particularly  my 3 kids. I’m super excited to bring technology to a very old industry that people love: independent retail. We tend to see technology as something disruptive that destroys value, but at Ankorstore technology is used to preserve what matters to people.

How do you see Ankorstore in the future?
Ankorstore is more than a marketplace. It’s a global solution serving a massive industry. In the near future, Ankorstore will be at the heart of retail embracing this industry from brands through to end-customers. Ankorstore has the potential to become a major player in e-commerce, changing retail for the better, for everyone.

What does the future of retail look like?
Retail will operate more closely with people in the future, bringing an experience that traditional e-commerce and mass markets will never be able to offer. Retail is going to become one of the most virtuous industries.
